Icons transmit the truths and traditions of the Christian faith. They serve as our spiritual guides, reminding us of
the Spirit ever present. Byzantine iconography is a living tradition of sacred art, passed on from one icon painter to the next through the ages. That tradition continues at St. Elizabeth Icon Studio, where we use modern technology to teach the ancient art of egg tempera icon painting.

Tutorial packets help students to paint at home, using what they have learned in workshops taught by the Prosopon School of Iconology or its affiliates. The instructions are based upon the school’s methods and techniques, and it is assumed that those painting from packets are familiar with the school’s terminology. These packets were created and are taught by Faye Drobnic at St. Elizabeth Icon Studio, an affiliate of the Prosopon School.
St. Elizabeth Icon Studio
offers iconography supplies including pigment kits, brushes, icon boards and miscellaneous items needed for painting icons. We believe that high-quality supplies are critical to successful icon painting. We sell only the supplies that we work with ourselves.
